27 August 2014 The damaged metal detector was removed today. They say it will be replaced on Saturday. Until then only schoolchildren and teachers are allowed in or out. Where is the security concern in allowing people out, away from the settlements and into the Palestinian “controlled” zone? Israeli authorities are threatening to replace the checkpoint with a wall. Let’s hope they see sense. This is collective punishment of all the residents of Tel Rumeida.

20 men wanted to go to work this morning. They waited over an hour before being sent away to make the long walk up the hill and around:
