Colonial settlers using pieces of an ancient archeological site, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, to stone the Abu Aisha house

Ramat Yashi was built over an important archaeological site. The Israeli High Court ordered it not be built for this reason but Netanyahu who was Prime Minister at that time over-ruled the High Court and authorized an apartment building on pillars over the remains. Jewish colonists now use this area under their building to store rubbish and bikes. The archaeology is of no importance to them because so far no Jewish remains have been found on Tel Rumeida; only Roman, Byzantine and ancient Canaanite. Mosaics and other ancient artifacts were thrown away during the dig. Very little has been published of what the archaeologists found.
